Hickory Legacy Society

United Way of Metropolitan Nashville is committed to the long-term health and well being of the Middle Tennessee community. In order to ensure that the needs in our community will be met in the future, United Way has established a planned giving program.

Through the planned giving program, United Way seeks to educate donors about making lasting gifts to help those in need. Planned giving differs from United Way’s annual fund raising campaign in that we ask donors to give gifts of assets rather than income for longer-term impact. Whether through a gift of stock, bequest, life insurance policy, or a trust, donors can contribute a greater portion of annual gifts to the agencies addressing the most critical needs in Middle Tennessee.

All donors who have made a planned gift, or who let us know that they will make a planned gift, will be included as members of the Hickory Legacy Society. There are currently about 50 members of this society who have committed gifts totaling approximately $2.5 million.
