United Way maximizes your gift to support adults in job search, job training and other independence skills by combining resources at Family Resource Centers in specific neighborhoods.
At the St. Luke's Family Resource Center, adults can increase their reading skills and adult immigrants can increase their English skills. Adults who read at less than an 8th grade level can improve in reading skills. Low-level or non-English speaking adults can improve their English speaking, understanding, reading and writing abilities. These achievements are measured by standardized assessments or by achieving at least one established personal goal.
