Get More Money Back Fast--And Free

Are you spending hundreds of dollars in unnecessary tax preparation fees and high interest Rapid Refund Loans (RAL). You work hard for your money so SAVE it by using one of the FREE Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites across the state. If your household income is $49,000 or less you probably qualify for FREE tax preparation assistance from an IRS certified volunteer. Free tax sites are available throughout Tennessee and can be located by calling 2-1-1 and asking for the nearest Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site nearest you.

At these VITA sites, volunteers are specifically trained to help tax filers claim qualifiing credits such as the Earned Income Tax Credit, Child Care Credit, etc. Refunds are typically received within 7-10 days if using direct deposit. Tax filers also receive information about community services, second chance banking products and other financial resources.
